VET-MR: Experience a New Dimension of Care

Most veterinary clinics use x-ray imaging to help diagnose pet injuries and other conditions involving bone structure. As useful as x-ray images are, they don’t provide a complete picture of your pet’s health. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans your pet’s body and produces detailed internal images that cannot be seen with conventional x-ray technology. Non-invasive and safe, MRI can lead to early detection and treatment by imaging soft tissue and providing information about your pet’s brain, spinal cord, sinus cavities, nose and ears, as well as, joints and internal organs. Computer-controlled radio waves measure the response of your pet’s body cells to temporary magnetic fields created by the magnets in the Vet-MR unit. Vet-MR’s open design and comfortable patient bed make proper positioning of your pet extremely easy with minimal stress to the animal. Your anesthetized pet remains nearly motionless during the series of scans that create computerized images of your pet. These images assist your veterinarian or radiologist with making a diagnosis and planning treatment.
